mere two miles from the city center and midway between two of the state's most vibrant metropolitan regions: San Francisco and Sacramento.
The expanded 4,700-foot runway at the Nut Tree Airport accommodates anything from light aircraft to corporate jets. The Airport's onsite
fixed base operator offers aircraft rentals and sales, hangar rentals, pilot training, aircraft maintenance and operations, as well as tie-down and fuel service.
The Nut Tree Airport was made famous by Rotary Fly-ins, a marquee annual

event for Vacaville's aviation enthusiasts from 1957-1982. As the airport's reputation grew, aviation heroes were invited as featured guests to the Nut Tree, including WWII hero Gen. Jimmy Doolittle and Neil Armstrong, the first man to set foot on the moon.
Although not as famous but just as fabulous, the Nut Tree Airport Museum, located just a short distance from the runways, is one of Vacaville's true hidden gems. WWII veteran
Duncan Miller and a modest contingency of dedicated pilots maintain a small fleet of vintage aircraft: painstakingly restored war birds, WWII military trainers, and civilian aircraft. Duncan's impressive collection is only exceeded by his vast knowledge of aviation history. The museum, maintained solely by volunteers, offers free tours to the public by appointment only. (Due to security issues, you must phone ahead.)
Throughout the years, the Nut Tree Airport has never failed to provide a welcoming environment for aviators and their airplanes. It is an important landmark to the city of Vacaville and the surrounding area.
The Nut Tree airport is located at 302 County Airport Road. (
